Now That Your Website is Finished...

Now that your website is finished, we're ready to launch the website and share all of our work with the world! We cannot wait for you to begin benefitting from all of our hard work together. After you approve the site launch, you will enter your 30-day "Grace Period" to catch everything we may have missed while building it. So, below is a bit of information about what this includes.

A Few Things To Know

Once you sign off on your website on the following page, we will go ahead and change your domain's DNS settings to point to your new website. Once we update your DNS settings, it has to propagate on the internet. Domain propagation is the process of updating nameservers around the world so that when someone visits your domain, your new website shows. This process can take up to 48 hours, but

in our experience, usually only about 24 hours to complete.

A few notes about launching a new website:

  • We don't launch new websites on Fridays or the day before a holiday. This is because sometimes there are issues and we want to make sure we're fully available to fix these issues in a timely manner if they

    occur.

  • It will show as not secure at first and this is normal. As soon as the propagation is complete, we will be able to apply your included SSL certificate to the website, so it shows as secure for all visitors.

  • Sometimes things break when we launch. This is normal and we will be monitoring the website to try to catch them, but you're welcome to notify us about anything you notice. We'll work together as a team to make sure it's as seamless as possible!

The 30 Day Grace Period

The 30-day grace period exists to cover any issues that weren't discovered during the build phase. The intention of this period is not to add to the initial scope of the project, change the design or add to the initial ideas discussed. The intention of this period is to make sure that we haven't missed typos, that all buttons are working and any integrations are working properly.

Things It Will Cover:

✔️ Typos

✔️ Broken links

✔️ Small changes to wording

✔️ Integrations included in your original proposal that aren’t working

✔️ Adding required license numbers

Things It Will Not Cover:

🚫 Adding pages

🚫 Redesigning full pages

🚫 Changing the coloring of the whole website

🚫 Changing the scope of the original project

🚫 Extensive changes to your content (ex. "We've changed all of our pricing, need a full page reworded, etc.")

🚫 Adding functionality to the website

Soft Launch of Website

With any website launch, we highly recommend a soft launch of your new web project. Simply because we all are so close to the project, it is bound to be that we missed a misspelled word or a broken link. Because of this, let close friends and family review the site before you announce your new website on social media or other platforms.

Let your soft launch complete and send us any applicable changes that need to be made and we’ll correct prior to your public launch.

Public Launch of Website

When you are ready to launch publicly, let us know and we’ll provide you with a graphic you can post on social media and in email newsletters.

We appreciate any tags or mentions on social media when posting. Just like any other business, word of mouth is how we get much of our business!

If you don't mind...

As a fellow small business, we thrive on word-of-mouth referrals. So, if you're happy with your website, we'd greatly appreciate it you mentioned us to your small business owner friends! We love working with small businesses to help them bring their audacious dreams to life. We promise to take great care of any referrals you send.

Still Have Questions?

If you still have questions about what you're agreeing to, please feel free to reach out to us!

We will communicate with you primarily through our email. Please expect 2 business days for edits to be completed.

However, sometimes you just need a phone call! If you ever have a question or a concern, don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and call us.

Have questions about how your project is progressing? Feel free to schedule a meeting with our Operations Manager, Joanie.
